Abstract

Software testing is an important step in the software development life cycle to ensure that a system operates as expected. The black-box method is a testing approach that focuses on validating the functionality of a system without examining its internal structure. This study employs the Black Box testing method to evaluate a clinical/medical appointment system based on WhatsApp and MedicalChat. MedicalChat is designed to facilitate patients in making appointments with doctors through a popular and easily accessible platform. The testing process includes various core functions such as registration, login, appointment scheduling, notifications via WhatsApp, and doctor schedule management. Test cases were developed based on common usage scenarios, boundary cases, and negative scenarios to ensure comprehensive test coverage. The testing results indicate that most features function as intended, although several bugs were identified and subsequently fixed. This study highlights the importance of rigorous testing to ensure the quality and reliability of software systems, particularly in healthcare service environments where high reliability is essential.
