A Conceptual Paper: Information System at Vocational School
Model of Smart Education
Purpose: The aims of this study is to model how e-learning can facilitate schools in the use of information technology in teaching and learning to support learning at the Vocational School Management in Tangerang, Banten Province.
Background: The development of Information Technology (IT) promotes the improvement of vocational education using various information technologies to support teaching and learning as smart education in the future. The IT support for education would lead quality expertise that continues to be improved. The integration of e-learning into the smart education system is seen as one way to meet the needs of quality education. The smart education, a concept that illustrates learning in the digital age.
Design/Methodology/Approach: In this study, a mixed methods of qualitative and quantitative approaches will be used. Both qualitative and quantitative data will be collected and analysed. Quantitative data analysis provides general information that is used to carry qualitative results.
Results/Findings: Information System at vocational school is an effort to enhance the effective education services and collaborative e-learning to support student learning and teaching process, thus a model of Smart Education in schools. Students can actively participate, gain experience in reading courses and in evaluating peer work, and the students will be reflecting their own work.
Conclusion and Implications:. Smart education must provide a practical approach to shape and implement for students living in the Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 to solve problems with cooperation and communication by enhancing creativity, and fostering their good character. The smart education needs to cope all matters susch as student grade and level, schools’ location, technology used, the course level, institution or school profiles, teacher performance, cost analysis and anticipating future flexibility.
