A Review Paper: Factors Influencing the Success of Women Entrepreneurs in Halal Cosmetic and Personal Care in Malaysia
Purpose: With the limited data and information, this paper aims to investigate the factors influencing the successful of women entrepreneurs in halal cosmetic and personal care in Malaysia.
Background: This issue is currently very important since it is part of the national encouragement to women in participating in business sector. Greater opportunities for women to become successful entrepreneurs especially in halal cosmetic and personal care. The Halal cosmetic and personal care sector has been growing rapidly in both developed and developing countries. The cosmetics market in Asia appears to be one of the fastest growing markets. Many factors influence the successful of women entrepreneurs such as psychology, economy and social. However, based on economic census 2016, one in five companies in Malaysia are owned by women which is still low compared to men.
Design/Methodology/Approach: Methodology in this study will based on literature review and developed questionnaire. The questionnaire will distribute among women entrepreneurs in halal cosmetic and personal care. The data will be analyzed by using qualitative method from the collected samples.
Results/Findings: Based on the literature review it has been found that most of the success factors are discussed in general not specific in cosmetic sector whereas this sector has become one of the big distributors around the world.
Conclusion and Implications: This paper will give an understanding to promote a better theoretical and acknowledgment of the difficulties correlated with the success of an entrepreneurship. It will also help an individual who plans to board on an entrepreneurship, to be informed of the many characteristics required for the success of the endeavor. This knowledge can be powerful for a new competitor in entrepreneurship.
